FAQs
About the range
What boxer shorts do you stock at BANG&STRIKE?
The boxer range covers three distinct areas. PUMP! fashion boxers — across the Whisper collection (sheer and opaque stripe in Black and White), Espresso (cotton mesh in warm brown), Washed Denim (acid-wash inspired in Black, Indigo and Bubble Blue) and Mr Grey (cool-touch cotton in mid grey). The Strike Pro Microfibre performance sports boxer — a looser-fit training style in 85% polyamide with moisture-wicking fabric. And Micro Modal trunks — an exceptionally soft everyday option in a natural fibre blend.
What is the difference between a boxer, a trunk and a boxer brief?
They're all longer-leg styles but cut differently. A traditional boxer is the loosest — longer, more relaxed through the leg with little to no contour. A trunk is shorter in the leg and more fitted through the seat — closer to a brief in silhouette but with more coverage. A boxer brief sits between the two: longer leg than a trunk, more structure than a loose boxer. The styles at BANG&STRIKE lean toward the fitted trunk end of the spectrum rather than the traditional baggy boxer — all feature contoured pouches and stretch fabrics rather than a loose, unstructured cut.
Why do the leg lengths and fits vary across the range?
Different constructions suit different purposes. The PUMP! fashion boxers prioritise design detail and a fashion-forward fit — they're built to be seen above the waistband and look good. The Strike Pro Microfibre sports boxer prioritises freedom of movement and moisture management for training. The Micro Modal trunk prioritises softness and all-day comfort. The right choice depends on what you're doing in them.
Fabrics
What fabric are the PUMP! boxers made from?
It varies by collection. The Whisper boxer uses a lightweight microfibre with sheer and opaque stripe detail knitted into the fabric itself, with a 40mm satin PUMP! waistband. The Espresso boxer uses a cotton mesh construction — breathable and low-rise with a 40mm caramel-contrast waistband. The Washed Denim boxer uses a soft stretch cotton with an acid-wash finish, jacron waistband label and mid-rise fit. The Mr Grey boxer uses a cool-touch breathable cotton with a clean stretch silhouette.
What is the Strike Pro sports boxer made from?
The Strike Pro performance sports boxer is made from 85% polyamide and 15% elastane — the same moisture-wicking, fast-drying microfibre used across the Strike Pro range. It's a looser, more relaxed cut than the fitted briefs and jocks in the range, designed for training where more freedom of movement is needed. Flatlock seams, scratch-free printed care label and the STEALTH tone-on-tone STRIKE PRO waistband throughout.
What is Micro Modal and why is it good for boxer shorts?
Micro Modal is a semi-synthetic fibre made from beech tree pulp — significantly softer than cotton and exceptionally breathable, with a smooth, silky feel against the skin. It drapes more naturally than synthetic fabrics, making it well-suited to the relaxed silhouette of a trunk or boxer. It's also more sustainable than conventional cotton, requiring far less water during production. If softness and natural breathability are the priority, Micro Modal is one of the best fabric choices in men's underwear.
Fit and comfort
Do boxers ride up during the day?
The fitted trunk-style cuts in the range — particularly the PUMP! fashion boxers with their contoured pouches and stretch fabrics — are designed not to. The four-way stretch construction moves with the body rather than shifting against it, and the longer leg sits flat against the thigh. The traditional issue of boxers riding up is almost entirely a problem with unstructured, non-stretch cuts — which none of the styles here are.
Are boxers or briefs better for everyday wear?
It comes down to personal preference and body type. Boxers provide more coverage and a more relaxed feel — many men find them more comfortable for sedentary or office use. Briefs provide more support and a closer fit — better for active days or the gym. A lot of men find the answer is both: a fitted brief or trunk for active wear and a more relaxed cut for rest days.
